Guest Blog One – “Jammin” Jesse Graffius

Posted: July 5, 2013 by dannytwoguns in Guest Blogs

Been a crazy past couple of weeks between heading to California for the mentorship/mastermind and Chicago for another Functional Training Summit in back to back weekends, I’ve had a bit of action taking as well as recovering to do. Back on schedule and no travel plans until August leaves us back on track here at the blog.

A running series Im going to be having is guest blogs from current client success stories to give a little bit of information on their journey and experiences with myself and Twoguns Training Systems. First up is “Jammin” Jesse Graffius. I’ll let Jesse take over right away…

“For those who don’t know me, my name is Jesse Graffius and I’ve been training with Dan and the Twoguns Training Systems program for almost seven months. I started back in January, albeit not of my own volition. I was lucky enough to win a spot in a contest called “Rock your Rolls Off” sponsored by Rocket 101 and of course, Nautilus. Each contestant was paired with one of the trainers at Nautilus and I was randomly paired with Dan and off we went. We hit the ground running and the beginning was definitely a shock to my system and six weeks later, I had shed 24 lbs, 21 of which was fat, and came in second (that part is debatable!). [ Note from Dan – absolutely debatable haha. I mention that in a past blog post HERE ]

After amazing results like that, I couldn’t help but go all in with Twoguns and was the only contestant to continue working with their trainer after the contest ended. No other program, diet, or routine I’ve ever tried has been like this. For the first time I’m not waiting for the other shoe to drop, for that morning when I don’t want to get up and go. For that burger to look too good and the breakfast burrito to be too easy. His program is truly a lifestyle and it’s one that you can really live with.

I’m like a lot of you, I’m married, two kids, long workdays, very little time and a business to run. With the help of my wife, I’ve made it work even on my busiest days and I’m so thankful that I did. I have so much more energy, I’m stronger, faster, and really can apply what we do in the gym to my workday (valslide mountain climbers = climbing a pile of loose stone). Dropping fat and gaining muscle is one thing, but how much better I feel and how much better I move cannot be described. Currently, I’m down 43 lbs, 8″ in my waist, 1/2 shoe size, three ring sizes and 1/2″ around my head!

If you’re new to the group, welcome! You’re going to love it right after you’re not sore any more. Trust me, you won’t be sore long, before you know it, you’ll be stronger and more flexible, you’ll find yourself doing more reps and using more weight. All it takes is time and a little willpower. At no point will Dan ask you to starve yourself or deprive yourself of all the things you love. The only thing he’s going to ask is that you try as hard as you can.

Last but not least, this group is one of the greatest groups of people I’ve ever gotten to know. I’ve made some great friends here which really surprised me. I can’t speak higher of the amazing culture Dan and Twoguns provide. I’ve never really been a “gym guy” but I was brought in to this group with open arms. They’re always here to support, hype, encourage and push you to do the best you can. Let’s get it then!”

Dan back… Jesse forgot to mention that he was quite the smoker when he started with me and not only ditched that habit right away but completely avoided the “quitting smoking weight gain” that people fall into so his immediate and continued success is that much more impressive. Definitely looking forward to his continued progress.
